James Nowlan

was born in Chicago in 1962 but he has
traveled around a lot since then. He worked as
a bike messenger in New York and spent some
time living under freeway over passes in
California.

Since moving to Europe he has been an English
teacher in Czechoslovakia and a security guard
in Paris. He now lives with his lovely wife
and daughter in Lyon, France.

His short novel (some might call it a
novella),
“Security” is based in part upon
these experiences and those of them that were
lost along the way (you know who you are where
ever you are).

He has also written and directed a feature
length digital video film,
“Compte à Rebours”
a satire of reality tv in which a prostitute,
a wino, a criminal, a housewife, a CEO, a top
model and a security guard are held prisoner
in a warehouse by a sadistic ex-KGB agent
turned gameshow host and forced to struggle
for their lives.
